The Monkey Mometer Guide for People Who Hate to Read Instructions.

The Monkey Mometer, our popular contactless temperature sensing camera and access control unit, is a sensitive, high-tech piece of kit. And just like you wouldn’t expect to have to sit on a milk crate in a windy alleyway to do your job, it needs the right conditions to be able to work properly.

MAKE SURE IT’S SET UP RIGHT

It needs a stable environment to be able to work properly. That means don’t put it under a vent or near a heater/air conditioner, anywhere windy, under hot lights or in a room with loads of glare.

MAKE SURE YOU’RE RIGHT

The Monkey Mometer Pro will not read temperatures below 35˚C (mainly because you’d probably be in hospital with hypothermia at that stage). It reads your temperature from your forehead. So if you’ve come in from the cold, you’ll read cold. If you’ve come in from a heated car wearing thermals and a beanie, or from the boiling cab of truck in the sun, you’ll read hot.

The best way to get an accurate reading is to wait for two minutes without anything covering your face/head once you enter the area you have placed the Monkey Mometer.

Think of it this way: your GP wouldn’t take your temperature after you’d just run up a flight of stairs dressed as a footy mascot, would they?
